Why this size

Why convert JPG to WebP

Image weight is the biggest part of most web pages. WebP stores the same photo in about a quarter to a third fewer bytes than JPG, so pages load faster and score better on Core Web Vitals.

Every current browser shows WebP. Keep your JPG originals for email, print and upload forms, which do not always accept WebP.

How the tool works

The image is decoded in your browser and saved again in the new format at a high quality setting. PNG and WebP keep transparent areas; JPG and GIF get a white background. A JPEG converted to JPG without a size limit keeps every byte and only changes the file name. Everything happens in your browser; your images are never uploaded.
