How to
How to make a stamp size photo
- 1.
Add a photo. A recent front-facing photo on a plain light background. Your passport size photo works too.
- 2.
Crop close to your face. The frame is locked to 2 x 2.5 cm. Your face should fill most of this small frame.
- 3.
Download or print. Save a 236 x 295 px photo, or a 4x6 inch sheet with 30 copies to print at home or at a photo shop.
Why this size
Stamp size photo size in cm, inches and pixels
A stamp size photo is 2 cm wide and 2.5 cm tall, which is 20 x 25 mm or about 0.79 x 0.98 inches. At 300 DPI it is 236 x 295 pixels. It is a little over half the width of a passport size photo, so it fits the small photo box on many paper forms in India and the rest of South Asia.
Because the photo is so small, crop close: your head and the top of your shoulders should fill the frame. A loose crop from a passport photo leaves a tiny face that is hard to recognise once printed.
If your form prints a different size in its photo box, follow the form. Use Resize in cm and type that size instead.

- 2.
Stamp size or passport size?. They are different. A passport size photo is 3.5 x 4.5 cm, much bigger. Check which one your form asks for before you print.

How we checked this page
Checked by the SizePort team on .
We test the tool with sample photos before it goes live and check that the sizes on this page match what it produces. Rules and platforms change, so if something here is out of date, tell us and we will correct it.
How the tool works
The tool scales your image once, from the original pixels, to the size you set at 300 DPI, and writes 300 DPI into the file so it prints at that size. Everything happens in your browser; your images are never uploaded.
