How the tool works
An open AI model (BiRefNet-lite on devices with WebGPU, otherwise MODNet) downloads to your browser once and finds the person or object in the photo. It builds a soft-edged mask, then removes the background or places a solid color behind the cut-out. Everything happens in your browser; your images are never uploaded.
