Why this size
Why iPhone photos are HEIC
Since iOS 11, iPhones save photos as HEIC to take about half the space of a JPG. The catch is compatibility: many upload forms, older Windows PCs and websites cannot read it.
JPG opens everywhere. Converting keeps the full resolution and looks the same, and because the decoder runs in your browser, private photos never leave your computer or phone.

How the tool works
The image is decoded in your browser and saved again in the new format at a high quality setting. PNG and WebP keep transparent areas; JPG and GIF get a white background. A JPEG converted to JPG without a size limit keeps every byte and only changes the file name. Everything happens in your browser; your images are never uploaded.
