Printers think in physical sizes, screens think in pixels. 5x7 Photo is 12.7 x 17.78 cm, or 5 x 7 in. At 300 DPI, the standard for sharp prints, that is 1500 x 2100 px; at 150 DPI, enough for posters seen from a distance, it is 750 x 1050 px.

Avoid
Common problems and fixes
- The photo lab cut off part of the picturePhone photos are a different shape from 5x7 prints. Resize here with Fill and choose what to keep yourself, or use Fit to keep everything with thin borders.
- The print is darker than the screenScreens are lit from behind, paper is not. Brighten the photo a little before printing, especially faces in shadow.
- The print looks softStart from the original photo, not a screenshot or a copy sent through a chat app, which can have far fewer pixels.
- It does not fit a 13 x 18 cm frame exactly13 x 18 cm is a few millimeters larger than 5 x 7 inches. The difference hides under the frame's lip.
